Who We Are
Eternal Shepherd is a congregation of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod (LCMS), rooted in the historic Christian faith and the teachings of the Reformation. Our worship is reverent and joyful, our preaching centers on Christ and Him crucified, and our life together centers on God's Word and Sacraments.
We are an inter-generational church family. Children, youth, young adults, parents, and seniors all worship side by side. Whatever your background, you are welcome here.
What to Expect
We hold two services every Sunday at 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM, with Sunday School and Bible classes for all ages at 9:45 AM. Worship generally lasts about an hour and follows the Lutheran liturgy — a structured order of Scripture, hymns, prayers, and preaching that has shaped Christian worship for centuries.
Come as you are. You will find a friendly congregation, hymnal-based singing, and a clear message of God's grace in Jesus Christ. If it's your first visit, look for a greeter near the entrance — they'll be glad to help you find a seat or answer questions.
Our History
We began as a mission of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod with the support and encouragement of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in Anderson, SC. Bible studies started in 1982 and grew into Vesper services, then full Sunday worship, and a building of our own in 1990. An expansion was completed in 2001.
Today, we average about 200 in Sunday attendance and offer a wide range of programs and activities for all ages — from Little Lambs Preschool to our K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry to global missions partnerships.
